Review this solution if you run the Uptime Infrastructure Monitor Linux agent in Daemon mode on a SUSE platform, follow the instructions below to add the two links and observe that the up.time Agent does not start up after rebooting the server.
ln -s /opt/uptime-agent/bin/upt_daemon.sh /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S99uptm_daemon ln -s /opt/uptime-agent/bin/upt_daemon.sh /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/K1uptm_daemon
Try the following steps for SLES 11 systems:
- Remove the 2 links created in /etc/rc.d/rc3.d as described above.
- Add the following: ln -s /opt/uptime-agent/bin/upt_daemon.sh /etc/rc.d/uptm_daemon
- Run chkconfig --level 345 uptm_daemon (where 345 is the run level you want the agent to run at).
Try the following steps for SLES 9 systems:
- Remove the 2 links created in /etc/rc.d/rc3.d as described above.
- Add the following: ln -s /opt/uptime-agent/bin/upt_daemon.sh /etc/rc.d/uptm_daemon
- Run:
- chkconfig uptm_daemon uptm_daemon 345
- chkconfig -t uptm_daemon xntpd uptm_daemon 345
- xntpd on
